Fulbourn Day Centre - Caring for our Elderly
The closure of Home Close Day Centre in Fulbourn in 2010 resulted in the formation of a new charity Fulbourn Day Centre.
The charity was set up by local carers and residents of Fulbourn. In June 2010 a campaign was started in Fulbourn to save Home Close Day Centre from closing and a petition was signed by over 35% of the householders in the village. The Parish Council took up the cause in July 2010 and with the help of South Cambridgeshire District Council we found an alternative venue at Chaplain's Close and Cambridgeshire County Council helped us find professional staff to run the Day Centre. The staff are employed by Crossroads Care who provide the service to Fulbourn Day centre through a partnership agreement.
Fulbourn Day Centre operates on Mondays and Tuesdays from Chaplin's Close and the Lunch Club is on Fridays at the Fulbourn Institute.
